สุดเสน่หา(2002) - Apichatpong Weerasethakul
Blisfully yours. One of those movies where the director is always in the back of your mind, like
when reading a novel. Infinitely suggestive.
L'opéra Mouffe
(1958) - Agnés Varda
Clever imagery and juxtaposition, a lot of mildly annoyed Frenchmen.
Particularly intriguing the scene with the naked couple in the small courtyard;
it had something primal, of the "Garden of earthly delights" kind entwined with
mythical imagery (such as Velazquez's Venus).
Edipo Re (1967) - Pier Paolo Pasolini
Stunning scenery, costumes and cinematography. The total adherence to Sophocles
made it feel like an endless theatre in the Moroccan landscape.
